Be realistic about the number of children you will have in your chosen venue...and remeber if the children are under the age of 5, parents will often stay too...taking up space and will probably mean you need to extend the catering!

 

Choosing the venue is important and will mainly depend on the amount of children you invite! A local hall can be ideal as this will usually provide ample space but beware..popular halls can be booked up 12 months in advance!

Depending on the size of your house, your front room can make a great place for your child and their friends to feel relaxed enough to join in all the party fun! There is also no cost involved but for the average house i would keep numbers to a maximum of 15.

 

If the children are younger i would say the earlier in the day the better as they will start getting tired later on!

Older children prefer later in the day as they feel more grown up!

 

Remember to ask halls/entertainers about any mid-week discounts!

 

Children will i'm afraid expect a party bag at the end of the party! Don't spend too much as whatever is in there, they will love for an hour after the party and then it will be left lying about the house!

A couple of sweets/chocolates, a small book or even a plastic whistle along with a piece of Birthday cake and everyone's happy!
